Sound and Motion – Storyboards

These Storyboards are subject to change in the coming months but this is the basic storyline I’d like to convey in my trailer. In the previous post I stated how I wanted my ad to focus on the panic and deception that the board game focuses on. Also I will animate this trailer as if it’s a motion comic, therefore frames won’t be smooth but more rigid.

I’d like to try and push viewers focus on the female in the advert, I want them to follow her journey in this trailer and maybe root for her success. The scene will open up in a warehouse like scene, slightly shrouded in darkness with some rays of light. Opening up on 1’s face, the female of the table, viewers hopefully will be invested. We then see two other figures, 2, a schwarzenegger looking guy and then 3, common looking male spy. All wear blue as is the colour of loyal agents. The scene will slowly build tension with each character showing their nerves. Number 2 will tap his finger continually in this scene hopefully adding to the tension. Then 1 and 3 will look at him nervously. The tapping will suddenly stop and 3 will spring into action. A table flip will ensue, as you do. For the next few scenes I’m still unsure of what will happen, it will be fight choreography which I haven’t planned yet. However I have a friend who is a stunt fighter and he’s agreed to give me some ideas, it won’t be anything too flashy, something simple enough for me to animate. In the end 2 is defeated, incapacitated or killed, I’m not sure yet. But as 3 rests thinking the threat is neutralized, 1 will be revealed as the traitor and take out 2. Hopefully viewers will be surprised? The ad will end with 1 walking to the table claiming her prize, the board game, and as she walks away she will unzip her blue agent jacket to reveal she was wearing a red spy shirt. Colour in the board game is indicative of whose side you’re on.

I would like there to be some sort of intense spy tune to play during the table seen then a stereotypical action tune during the fight. Other sounds Id need for this would be a finger tapping a table, a table crashing or at least wood crashing. Several grunts and punch noises. Then at the end a gun shot and the sound of someone walking on hard floor and a zipper noise. There may be more noises planned down the line but for now those will do.
